In South Sudan, disability is often stigmatized n due to negative traditional beliefs, stereotypes, and ignorance. As a result, children and adults with disabilities are often neglected and isolated. Such negative attitudes contribute to discrimination against persons with disabilities, and Mary was one such person.

Here is Jenty’s story about how experiencing discrimination because of her epileptic disorder impacted her mental health and well-being, and how being afforded proper care made her live a normal and happier life again.
