World Vision and the European Union donate Assistive Devices to Magwero School for Blind to Promote Quality Inclusive Education
Speaking during the handover, the UPLIFT project Manager, Chibuye Mwila, said the donated items, including 3 Prodigi Connect tablets with cameras that have talk-back software, five reams of braille paper, seven braille starter packs, eight braille mathematical sets, 5 handheld magnifiers, and eight talking calculators, all amounting to K265,250, ($14,248 US Dollar) will empower the children by increasing access to inclusive and quality education.

European Union and UNHCR visit World Vision programmes and projects
The objective of the visit was to monitor progress in the quality of prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) in the visited communities, as well as the support provided at sexual and GBV (SGBV) one stop centres through the EU-funded Natwampane programme. Reducing SGBV in Zambia is a common objective of the government, as well as the EU and other cooperating partners. The visit provided better insight into the important work accomplished by the implementing partner. World Vision, and their outreach down to the community level.

World Vision launches new education project funded by the European Union
World Vision has launched a new education project in Zambia titled 'The Urban and Rural Programme for Learners’ Inclusion, Foundation and Transformation through Education Action (UPLIFT Education Project) which will be implemented in Eastern Province. The UPLIFT Education Project seeks to address barriers to access to education for vulnerable children and youth and will be implemented in Lumezi and Lundazi districts of Eastern Province.

No More Hunger: Ministry of Health, European Union, Australia and World Vision enabled vulnerable communities to tackle malnutrition despite COVID-19
On Friday 16th of September, the Department of Hygiene and Health Promotion of the Ministry of Health, the European Union, the Australian Embassy, and World Vision co-chaired the National Closing Ceremony of the Accelerating Healthy Agriculture and Nutrition (AHAN) Project with the total cost of 11 M€ including 10 M€ of EU contribution. The ceremony aimed at concluding five years of the project’s implementation, sharing out the key findings of the recent end-line evaluation with the stakeholders and policy-makers towards nutrition, including various ministries of the Government of Lao PDR, development partners, UN agencies, and other Non-Governmental organisations.
