Disaster Risk Reduction & Response
Every child is safe from disasters
We protect children and their communities by providing emergency relief, safeguarding their well-being, and strengthening resilience through disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and recovery support.
Myanmar is highly vulnerable to natural disasters such as floods, cyclones, earthquakes, and landslides. To address these risks, World Vision Myanmar (WVIM) implements proactive programmes that support disaster-affected communities. When disasters strike, we provide immediate relief, including food and cash assistance, child protection services, clean water and sanitation, and livelihood recovery support.
Beyond emergency response, we focus on building long-term resilience by equipping communities with the knowledge and skills to prepare for and respond to disasters. Through Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) training and Anticipatory Action Plans, we help communities strengthen their preparedness, minimize risks, and recover more effectively. By integrating these strategies, we ensure that vulnerable families are better protected and empowered to face future challenges.
